Tom Oberhue

Black Belt under Master Saulo Ribeiro
Owner of Five Rings BJJ in Portland, Oregon

"Ben Baxter is a great Jiu Jitsu coach. If you have the opportunity to train with him at Performance Grappling, take it!!! You won't regret it. He's the real deal!"

Stephen Snyder

Performance Grappling Student

"Training Jiu Jitsu is the most rewarding activity I do, having Ben as my coach I have learned so much. I recommend anyone to take up Jiu Jitsu, I feel it is one of the most practical self defense out there. It is something I love and will continue to do til I'm old. Some people join gyms and walk or run on a treadmill, or ride bikes that go nowhere. Why not get that same cardio and fitness learning something that could save your life. I don't necesarily mean save your life in a street self defense situation, (which it could) but the mental peace it gives me, and helps me dealing with life. Do it"

Caitlin Wefler

Performance Grappling Student

"I train in Jiu Jitsu at the Performance Training Center under the guidance of Ben Baxter. His clear instructions and patience throughout our struggles and triumphs has made each class something to look forward to. There is a peace of mind that comes in learning a martial art - confidence, discipline, camaraderie, and a feeling of accomplishment quickly follow. I never was much of a runner. I prefer to learn something while staying active and in Ben's class we are constantly learning new things. I think one of the best feelings is the one I get from being a part of this Team. We all help each other in some way and thus, become more successful in our game each time we practice. We train together, we study together, we compete together - we are the Performance Grappling Team. :)"
